Support Black Women with Endometriosis

Since I’ve started to pursue modeling, endometriosis has made it difficult for me to be consistent. I was devastated when I had to walk out of my first paid booking after my pain made it impossible to walk the runway safely. My symptoms again interrupted my next booking when I was hospitalized the morning of the event. I was blessed to be working with MsDenishia and Kimberly Steward, who were immensely understanding and supportive. I am overwhelmingly grateful, as I’m aware women are not granted that same grace in every work environment. I’m ecstatic to support this fundraiser that raises awareness and empowers women to pursue their goals the same way I was able to. Practitioners do not learn about endometriosis in medical school, and are therefore often unable to recognize the symptoms. It takes the average American woman ten years to receive a proper diagnosis. Treatment options are limited even when working with a specialist due to research being severely underfunded. The lack of awareness and compassion for women battling this condition is heartbreaking. Myself and many women I know have missed out on invaluable life experiences because of the debilitating pain.
